Understand that your personal change affects everything
When you change internally you change the energy of how things flow around you. Being more positive or improving in an area of your life can change the opportunities given to you, the way you interact with your social network, and how the outside world perceives you.
Recognize some people will be challenged by your change
while you’ll have many in your life that are supportive of the new and improved version of yourself, some may feel completely overwhelmed, challenged and even angry about it. The positive changes in your life can make others reflect on their own behaviors and changes that need to be made. Some may even feel that they can’t relate to you anymore.
Internal change can mean a shift in relationships
we are all apart of various systems and relational dynamics and when you change you tend to in shift the norm of how those systems and dynamics function. As I stated previously your change can help improve or “upset” the system regardless of how positive it may be for you. Be prepared to see improvement or even setbacks in friendships or relationships that you think are consistent!
The above is not to discourage you from changing or celebrating the new direction you have chosen for yourself. You should always feel good about who you’re becoming and the work that needed to be done to get there. With that said everything comes with a cost and being prepared for it if you happen to come face to face with it can give you some perspective and understanding.
