Malyka Cardwell, MFT
Malyka Cardwell is a Couple and Family Therapist based in the Philadelphia area. She works with people in different stages of relationships whether it be courtship, dating, pre-marital, marriage and even separation. Malyka also works with individuals in order to help them strengthen their internal relationship. She specializes in infidelity, dating, building intimacy, anxiety, strengthening communication and working with issues pertaining to cultural differences.
Malyka graduated with a BS in Psychology and a minor in English from Old Dominion University. During her time at Old Dominion, she volunteered with the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) to help bring sexual abuse awareness to her campus. She then went on to study at Thomas Jefferson University’s Couple and Family Therapy program with a specialization in Sex Therapy. While pursuing her Master’s Degree, Malyka interned as a therapist at the Council For Relationships’ University City and Institute of Sex Therapy offices, as well as, Freire Charter School.
Malyka employs various disciplines in order to provide her clients with unique perspectives to their unique experiences. She focuses on creating a therapeutic environment that allows her clients to express their vulnerabilities and desires while also feeling safe.
